Título: THE LEADING ROLE OF STUDENTS AND SOCIOLOGY IN TIMES OF RECONTEXTUALIZATION OF EDUCATION

Palavras-chave: Educational policy. Student agency. Sociology teaching.

Páginas: 110

Resumo: Based on the teacher's experiences as a researcher, this work outlines two objectives: a practical one, required by the professional master's degree, which mobilizes sociological knowledge and students in a process of pedagogical mediation; and another which consists of evaluating the impacts of the BNCC (National Common Curricular Base) and the ENEM (National High School Exam). The theoretical-methodological framework is aligned with the method of historical-dialectical materialism, which problematizes quantitative and qualitative data, as well as bibliographic research, through their social determinations articulated within a totality. To analyze public educational policies, I trace a historical evolution of the educational system and the conception of education, alongside economic and political changes, favoring the contextualization of these processes. A second part addresses the incorporation of the discourse on student agency and the challenges of teaching Sociology in the face of changes promoted by educational reforms and productive restructuring, drawing on the reflexive and methodological nature of sociological knowledge. This historical approach reveals the ideological and psychophysical links of the "new industrialism," introduced by managerialist and privatist policies that emphasize participation while reinforcing a trend of adjustment characterized by neoliberal economic policies. In this examination, I identify paradigms that act as dissimulating mechanisms of the exclusion process, promoted by the entities that structure secondary education.

Título: YOUNG PEOPLE WHO WORK: CONTRADICTIONS BETWEEN HUMAN DEVELOPMENT AND EARLY WORK AND THE TEACHING OF SOCIOLOGY AS AN EMANCIPATORY PRACTICE

Palavras-chave:  Keywords: working youth; work; public school; world of work; historical dialectical materialism; emancipation.

Páginas: 191

Resumo: ABSTRACT This dissertation analyzes the early entry of high school students from the Edeli Mantovani State School, located in Sinop/MT, into the world of work, from the perspective of Historical Dialectical Materialism. The research is situated within the Brazilian context where a significant number of adolescents between 14 and 17 years old participate in labor activities, seeking to understand this phenomenon in its social, economic, and educational determinants. The central problem of the investigation is to understand how the objective and subjective conditions of these young people's entry into the workforce are expressed in the students' formative trajectories and to what extent the school can contribute to the construction of a critical awareness of this reality. The general objective was to analyze the conditions of these young people's entry into the world of work, identifying its structural determinants and the possibilities of critical mediation by the school through the teaching of Sociology in this process. The research adopted a qualitative approach, articulating bibliographic research, the application of a closed questionnaire to 34 students in the 2nd year of high school, and the conducting of seven semi-structured interviews with young workers. The data analysis was guided by the Content Analysis proposed by Bardin in a technical and procedural manner, articulated with the analytical categories of Historical-Dialectical Materialism: work, totality, mediation, contradiction and Emancipation. The results indicate that the insertion of young people into the workforce during school hours is not an isolated individual choice, but an expression of the socioeconomic conditions of their families and the contradictions of capitalism today, marked by the precariousness and informality of labor relations. It was observed that many of these young workers begin working during adolescence, often in precarious conditions and with limited knowledge of their labor rights. The statements of the young people interviewed reveal the presence of a meritocratic consciousness that tends to naturalize exploitation, although there are also indications of critical reflection on this reality. It is concluded that public schools have the potential to act as a space for critical mediation between youth and the world of work, contributing to the formation of a broader social awareness of the living conditions of working youth.

Título:  Sociological aspects of the colonization process of the municipality of Cláudia-MT, through Art. 2025

Palavras-chave: Sociology of Art. Colonization. Social memory. Ethnography. Sociology teaching.

Páginas: 110

Resumo:   This research presents a sociological analysis of the colonization process of the municipality of Cláudia-MT, articulating the fields of Sociology and Art through an ethnographic approach. It is based on the understanding that artistic works are not merely aesthetic expressions, but symbolic records of collective experiences, social practices, and shared memories, thus constituting social documents subject to analysis (BOURDIEU, 1996; GEERTZ, 1978; NORA, 1993). The corpus of the study consists of 15 artworks portraying the first ten years of the municipality’s colonization, through which aspects such as migration, labor, social institutions, sociability, power relations, belonging, and identity construction are examined, understood as social facts (DURKHEIM, 1990) and as products of the material and symbolic relations of social life (MARX; ENGELS, 1999; MARX, 2011; WEBER, 2004). The analysis is also grounded in theoretical perspectives that conceive art as a form of world interpretation, a sensitive experience, and a cultural mediation (COLI, 1989; DUARTE JÚNIOR, 1988; FISCHER, 1987). Ethnography is mobilized as an epistemological framework that guides the interpretation of the images and their sociocultural contexts from the researcher’s situated perspective. This applied research, developed within the scope of PROFSOCIO, resulted in the educational product Guidelines: Sociology and Art, aimed at Elementary School teachers, in order to support pedagogical practices that integrate local history, social memory, and sociological concepts. It is concluded that the articulation between Sociology and Art broadens the possibilities for critical readings of social reality and strengthens the links between education, memory, and territory.

Título: The impact of teaching sociology on the education of adult students in the EJA (regular) modality in high school

Palavras-chave: Sociology Teaching. Education. EJA.

Páginas: 120

Resumo: SANTOS, Ana Paula Araujo. The impact of teaching sociology on the education of adult students in the EJA (regular) modality in high school. 2025. 70 p. Qualification Project (Professional Master's Degree in Sociology Teaching in a National Network) - Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso, Sinop, Mato Grosso, 2025.   This research outlines the importance of teaching Sociology in the context of the EJA (youth and adult education) modality. We adopted the sociology of education and the regular EJA modality as categories of analysis. The empirical field will be the Edeli Mantovani State School, located in the city of Sinop-MT. Theoretically, we will base this research on the perspectives of authors who bring the history of teaching Sociology, as well as its insertion in the curriculum, and also authors who discuss and contribute to the social importance of the EJA modality. The theoretical framework that supports this research is based on the authors Paulo Freire (1979) (1996), Carlos Rodrigues Brandão (1981), Leandro Baségio and Márcia Borges (2013), Nildo Viana (2007), Carlos Benedito Martins (1994) and Ney Jansen Ferreira Neto (2019). As the final product of this course work, I propose to build a glossary to guide the teaching of sociology, with proposed themes that can help the EJA sociology teacher to think about possible themes that can contribute to classroom discussions.

Título: Sociology in high school: what do students in public schools in Sinop, Mato Grosso

Palavras-chave: Sociology. High school. Student perception.

Páginas: 118

Resumo: ECCO. Andréia Maria Neri Ecco. Sociology in high school: what do students in public schools in Sinop, Mato Grosso think? 2025. 39 p. Qualification Project (Professional Master's Degree in Teaching Sociology in a National Network) - State University of  Mato Grosso, Sinop, Mato Grosso, 2025.    This research project focuses on the teaching of sociology in secondary schools and aims to investigate students' perceptions of this subject in public schools in the municipality of Sinop/MT. The main objective is to understand how students perceive the relevance of Sociology in their academic and personal training, by observing the pedagogical practices of students in this subject. In this context, we started with the following problem: What is the perception of high school students in Sinop/MT about the subject of Sociology? The research is justified by the need to deepen and understand the reception of Sociology in the school environment, especially in the face of recent curriculum changes that could weaken its presence in schools. The chosen methodology combines a qualitative approach with a bibliographic survey in state-of-the-art format, researching recent scientific productions (2021-2025) in the Scopus, Web of Science, SciELO and Google Scholar databases, with direct, non-participant observation and the application of a semi-structured questionnaire. The study also takes into account the educational context of Sinop/MT, and aims to contribute to more meaningful pedagogical practices that promote the appreciation of the discipline and stimulate students' critical thinking.

Título: LIFE PROJECT IN SOCIOLOGY TEACHING: challenges of transversality and strengthening of teacher identity through a collaborative pedagogical intervention in high school in Sinop-MT

Palavras-chave: Keywords: Sociology Teaching; Projeto de Vida; BNCC; Collaborative Action Research; Active Methodologies; Goffman’s Microsociology; Teacher Education.

Páginas: 150

Resumo: This dissertation aims to understand the challenges faced by high school Sociology teachers in Mato Grosso when integrating the BNCC’s Projeto de Vida component into their pedagogical practices. The justification arises from the lack of specific continuing education, the difficulty of working with transversal themes, and the need to strengthen teacher autonomy in the face of standardized curricula and structured materials. The central research problem consisted of identifying how teachers perceive and experience this integration, revealing tensions between normative proposals and the concrete reality of schools. The theoretical framework was based on Nóvoa (1995) and Pimenta (2012) on reflective teacher education, Bacich and Moran (2018) on active methodologies, and Goffman (2011) for a microsociological analysis of classroom interactions, performances, and frames. The methodology adopted was collaborative action research (Thiollent, 2011), developed in cycles of planning, action, observation, and reflection with participating teachers. Data collection occurred through the transcription of the speeches of three Sociology teachers from Escola Estadual Professora Edeli Mantovani, in Sinop-MT, during five meetings held via Google Meet. Given the large volume of material, the analysis employed data mining with R software as a stage of tabulation and selection of speeches, allowing the identification of discursive patterns and thematic recurrences. This analysis was divided into two complementary moments: the pedagogical, focusing on teachers’ experiences with active methodologies such as PBL and workshop classes; and the sociological, focusing on Goffman’s microsociology, especially the categories of interaction, performance, frames, and front stage/back stage. The most significant results revealed divergences between normative adherence and the need for critical grounding; overload and fragmentation of school time as barriers to innovation; student resistance to written activities but greater engagement in debates and audiovisual resources; strengthening of teacher identity by recognizing themselves as mediators and producers of knowledge; and the potential of active methodologies to bridge theory and practice, provided they are accompanied by theoretical support and adequate material conditions. It is concluded that the pedagogical intervention achieved its general objective by expanding teachers’ critical reflection, highlighting structural and microsocial tensions, and reaffirming the role of Sociology as an indispensable discipline for critical and civic education in the New High School, especially given the complexity of integrating transversal themes such as Projeto de Vida.

Título: O CONSUMO DE MERCADORIAS POR MEIO DAS REDES SOCIAIS E PLATAFORMAS DIGITAIS E AS REPERCUSSÕES PARA A SOCIABILIDADE DOS JOVENS.

Palavras-chave: Juventude. Consumo. Redes Sociais. Sociabilidade.

Título:  Sociology of Affects: the affective relationship in the teaching–learning - Pedagogical Intervention with teachers from Elementary School I at the Municipal School Centro Educacional Lindolfo José Trierweiller

Resumo:   HECK, Evandro José. Sociology of Affects: the affective relationship in the teaching–learning - Pedagogical Intervention with teachers from Elementary School I at the Municipal School Centro Educacional Lindolfo José Trierweiller. 2026. 178 p. Qualification Project (Professional Master’s Degree in the Teaching of Sociology in a National Network) – State University of Mato Grosso, Sinop, Mato Grosso, 2026.   The present study emerges from the premise that affect constitutes a structuring force of learning. Grounded in the Sociology of Affects, we depart from the understanding that knowing implies a subject–object–subject relationship, marked by welcoming and the power to act. Far from being neutral, the school is a living field of affective forces, where bodies meet, desires circulate, and bonds are built or broken. The objective was to analyze how affective relationships—understood as social, pedagogical, and political forces between educators and learners—modulate the power to learn, engagement, and educational trajectories. Such dynamics influence behaviors, expectations, and ways of being at school, affecting academic outcomes and everyday relationships. Methodologically, a qualitative research approach was adopted as a sensitive and dialogical encounter. The empirical pathway involved semi-structured interviews and questionnaires with educators from the Municipal School Centro Educacional Lindolfo José Trierweiller, producing narratives about professional practice. The statements, records of everyday teaching affections, were subjected to Bardin’s Content Analysis, identifying categories related to affective flows, emotional labor, and the implications of training that either silences or enhances affects. As a result of the research, a pedagogical intervention was developed, materialized in an educational product of an advisory nature aimed at teachers, offering practical strategies for strengthening affective bonds, welcoming practices, and sensitive listening in everyday school life, with the goal of intentionally incorporating affectivity as a pedagogical tool. The theoretical framework is based on Karl Marx (1999), Spinoza (2009), Charlot (2000), Maffesoli (1998), and Freire (1996), for whom education is a relational practice, ethically and politically situated. The results present affectivity as a structuring force: its presence fosters bonds, increases engagement, and enhances academic performance. It is addressed that affectivity in education constitutes a pedagogical act and must be recognized and intentionally incorporated into school practice and teacher education

Resumo: SANTOS, Agnaldo Machado dos. Rural Education as a Perspective for Social Emancipation: Family Time as a Teaching Methodology. 2025. 63 f. Qualification Project (Professional Master's Degree in Sociology in a National Network) - Mato Grosso State University, Sinop - Mato Grosso, 2025.   This research, Rural Education as a Perspective for Social Emancipation: Family Time as a Teaching Methodology, seeks to understand the learning relationships that occur between family, student and school in the context of Rural Education. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach, the research investigates how the Pedagogy of Alternation articulates School Time and Family Time. In this model, students carry out theoretical and practical activities at home, with the active participation of their families. However, difficulties in family interaction and participation in the pedagogical process are often observed. The study will be conducted through semi-structured interviews and on-site observations, based on a field diary that records school and family dynamics. The authors who theoretically underpin our research are: Angrosino (2009), Costa et al (2018), Ghedin (2008), Lüdke (1986), Mattos et al (2011). Data analysis will follow the stages of preliminary reading, categorization and interpretation of the results. The culmination of this research will be ongoing training for elementary school teachers, using participatory research as a methodology. By linking the formal knowledge of the school with the experiential knowledge of the families. The study aims to strengthen the links between the institutions involved, promoting an integral and meaningful education for the students.

Título: THE IMPORTANCE OF TEACHING SOCIOLOGY FOR THE SOCIABILITY OF YOUNG PEOPLE AND THE CONFRONTATION OF CONTRADICTIONS IN THE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT.

Palavras-chave: Social Inequality. Sociology Teaching. School Space. Youth. Sociability.

Páginas: 170

Resumo: This research aims to reflect on youth, analyzing the social relationships built within the school environment, based on the contribution of teaching Sociology in secondary education. This study seeks to understand the social configurations of students in the school environment, starting from an analysis of who the young students attending school are, and also to present the teaching of Sociology as a tool capable of providing answers to the contradictions they face in High School. Regarding methodological aspects, we consider our research to be bibliographic, qualitative, and based on systematic observation. The empirical field was the Padre Ernesto Camilo Barreto State School in Cuiabá/MT, and the subjects of the research were 20 students in their third year of high school. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire with open and closed questions using Google Forms. After application, the collected information was analyzed using the historical dialectical materialism method, allowing us to understand the socioeconomic profile of the students, as well as their opinions and suggestions for the teaching of Sociology. Based on these results, pedagogical material was developed to complement the current teaching material for High School, already used in Sociology classes. Our resource was created in two formats: digital and printed, allowing students access within their own context. The material, Photographic Catalog: “Sociological Perspectives on Youth”, addresses the subject by situating the teaching of Sociology in dialogue with the categories of youth, sociability, social inequality, youth identity, and school space. The theoretical framework underpinning our study is based on Marxist-based researchers such as Dayrell, Lima Filho, Pais, Marx, and Groppo. This research reinforces the importance of continuing efforts to strengthen the teaching of Sociology as a scientific discipline that can contribute, through various pedagogical practices, to encouraging critical reflection in students, and enabling them to develop into conscious citizens concerned with society. It is believed that this study has enabled an understanding of how the teaching of Sociology can lead young students to perceive their social condition and thus assist them in confronting social contradictions.
